What is yoga therapy?

Yoga therapy is a holistic approach to healing that addresses physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Private yoga therapy sessions can be a way to reinvigorate one's existing practice, serve as a form of preventative care, be useful for rehabilitation and be an ally when living with disease. Each yoga therapy session is unique to the needs of the individual. As a yoga therapist, I seek to promote a warm environment where I can help my client, explore with curiosity and tenderness, what it means for them to live vibrantly.  To promote the well-being of my client, I am more than happy to work in partnership with other health care providers.  

Is yoga therapy for you?

 Yoga therapy can be beneficial for addressing a variety of issues. I have experience working with anxiety and stress, depression, PTSD,  chronic pain, insomnia, chronic fatigue, substance abuse and addiction, life changing events- times of transition and self exploration of mind, body and spirit. What is included in your yoga therapy session?

Each session will begin with a grounding practice and conversation to understand your needs and goals. We will explore asana (yoga poses), pranayama (breathing practices), rehabilitative exercises and mindfulness tools in a practice uniquely designed for you. Our time together will conclude with restorative yoga for deep rest, a summary of the session, and suggestions for home practice.
